Our Milestones
History
The foundation for Aktaş Kimya was laid
Aktaş Kimya was founded as a family-owned business by our Chairman of the Board, Mustafa Aktaş, with the goal of taking pride in both being a pioneer that shapes its own industry and contributing to our country’s image and prestige. The company’s foundations were laid in a modest office in Kadıköy, Istanbul.
Production investment and first export
Following the company’s establishment, our first production facility was opened in Tuzla, Istanbul, and began operations. Its product range includes automotive, industrial, process, and marine oils, greases, and complementary products (antifreeze, brake fluid, etc.).
That same year, Aktaş Kimya made its first export, marking its entry into international markets.
Our R&D Center
We established our R&D Center not only to develop new lubricant technologies and products but also to conduct quality control tests on the products we manufacture.
The APEX brand was born
As part of our branding process, we launched our APEX brand—which features high-performance automotive and industrial solutions—to offer our customers, particularly those in the automotive and industrial sectors, a more diverse and comprehensive range of products and services.
Our Dilovası tank terminal has been commissioned
To store the base oils that our customers and production facility may need more securely and to improve our logistics footprint, our base oil storage, inventory management, and direct distribution operations have been strengthened thanks to the tank storage infrastructure we commissioned at the Dilovası Customs Area.
The Launch of the REXOIL Brand
Following APEX, based on research conducted to address our customers’ needs, we launched our REXOIL brand to provide more comprehensive product support—particularly to our automotive and industrial customers—thereby taking our capabilities to a new level.
Reksoil Petrochemical Inc. was established
Reksoil Petrochemical Industry and Trade Inc., a subsidiary established to support the Aktaş Group’s strategic vision, has begun operations. With this move, our group has strengthened its role as a producer in addition to its lubricant trading activities.
The "Stars of First Exports" Award…
Reksoil Petrochemical Industry and Trade Inc., which has made significant strides in Turkey’s exports in a short period of time, was first honored with the “Stars of Export” Award by İKMİB (Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Association) in 2014.
KLORA Brand Launch
Following APEX and REXOIL, we expanded our product portfolio—specifically to better serve our customers with a variety of brands—and began offering solutions to new international markets and various industries under the KLORA brand.
The AUSTER brand has been launched
As the number of countries where we provide services abroad has grown, our brand investments have continued to expand. In this context, AUSTER—our new brand offering a range of automotive and industrial products—was launched and joined the Aktaş Group product family.
Domestic Sales Reorganization
To deliver our customer-focused products and services nationwide through our strong operational network, we have implemented a restructuring of our domestic sales organization, which includes our sales teams and regional distributors.
R&D Laboratory Renovation
We renovated our R&D center—which we established in 2002—right here at our factory to keep pace with evolving lubricant technologies and to develop a wider range of technological products. To implement this technological infrastructure, we made significant investments in both laboratory equipment and experienced personnel.
